Are you on the Right Path to Success?
Greetings,
2021 is almost here. I looked at my past resolutions and see how many I got right, but more importantly, how many I discarded within a couple of weeks. This seems to be the problem with most resolutions. They barely get airborne, then stall and come crashing down. So where is the problem?

Covid-19 vaccinations have been granted emergency authorization and now the next step is to achieve herd immunity. Herd immunity is achieved when a threshold of vaccination is reached. The entire population is then considered to be protected from the pandemic.
In a similar fashion, I wonder if we can achieve herd immunity from the ‘Infodemic’ we face. There exists a continuous barrage of Misinformation as well as Disinformation.
Are we well equipped to fight it?

It is not an easy battle to win. Think about it this way - As long as people consume junk food, there will be businesses which provide it in abundance. Junk food is cheap, convenient and captivates the taste buds of young and old alike.
So is the case with scandalous lies. Even statistics are frequently used to mislead people. The stated facts, though true, will cause the unarmed consumer to believe something which is not true. The only way to arm the unassuming public is through relentless education. All of us need to be smart enough to distinguish between the truth and the untruth.
Only the ones thinking critically, look for holes in any scandalous claim. If your jaw drops, when you hear something, let that be a hint to slow down.
We desperately need to achieve herd immunity from the lies being spread. Always think very slowly and carefully before carving out an opinion and definitely before passing judgment.
How Do We Get to Herd Immunity for Fake News?

The two articles below draw parallels in my mind between Kamikaze pilots and Delivery workers.
He Escaped Death as a Kamikaze Pilot. 70 Years Later, He Told His Story.
Delivery workers in South Korea say they’re dying of ‘overwork.’
Couple of days to go before Christmas eve and we need things to lighten up. Hiroyuki is busy looking for some of the best decorations. He shares this from the Grand Front mall in Osaka. For sure, Christmas trees floating in the air, do the trick.
